Victoria House Care has a large comfortable main lounge where Service Users can spend time together socializing, participating in activities with our Activities Co-ordinator on weekday afternoons doing a variety of activities from:
We also have monthly visits from the local church and also the YMCA who provide a variety of physical activities for all to join in with.
Within the lounge we also have a 50″ television for those that like to sit and watch TV.
The lounge is part of a new extension and goes directly out to the paved garden, due to the size of the lounge there is plenty of space for Service Users to entertain family members and friends who may wish to visit.
Victoria House Care’s lounge leads directly out into the paved garden which is a nice tranquil place to sit during the summer months, the garden is designed and laid out in a way which makes it accessible to all and to provide a wide range of colours, smells and sensory stimulation for service users.
As well as some en-suite facilities, Victoria House Care also has a state of the art Malibu Bath which enables service users of all abilities to be able to have access to a bath in a safe and comfortable way in a modern and spacious environment helping to ensure the experience is pleasurable and relaxing.
As part of the new extension Victoria House Care has also created a new wetroom for those residents that have a preference for a shower, this room is modern and spacious and is accessible to all including those with mobility issues.
As part of the assessment process we will ascertain service users preferences for baths or showers but will continue to assess this and offer choice on a daily basis as we know as a home that individuals preferences do change.
Service users all have their own individual bright and cheery private bedrooms where they can keep their own treasures and furniture safely, as a home we actively encourage service users to personalise their rooms and they can be supported to do this by family & friends or their key worker.
All bedrooms are fitted with a nurse call facility which service users can use to call for assistance and this system identifies around the home to staff which room/service user is seeking assistance.
All rooms have TV points to enable service users to bring in their own TV’s which they can then access in their rooms and a wide variety of power points around the room.
During the assessment process Victoria House Care will assess if any additional equipment may be needed for individual’s room’s this could include commodes, profile beds, pressure mattresses etc.
14 rooms within the home have en-suite bathrooms
Dining Room and Kitchen
Victoria House Care has a newly refurbished dining room which has been updated following suggestions from service users about colour and décor. The dining room is a pleasant environment to enjoy meals and to engage with other service users but service users also have the option of eating in their rooms if they wish to do so.
The dining room comes directly off the main lounge so it all on one level making it fully accessible to those individuals with mobility aids.
Victoria House Care has its own Chef who prepares all the main meals, these are freshly prepared using ingredients locally sourced to ensure freshness. Our Chef also caters for any cultural needs or special dietary needs and will tailor meals to meet recommendations from health professionals i.e. speech and language therapists and dieticians.
The menu’s within Victoria House Care are created by the service users within the home and are discussed, updated and reviewed following the regular service users meetings.
